New Life Fitness 91Xi total-body elliptical cross-trainer offers wide variety of programs and easy-to-use features

Machine’s popular, classic elliptical motion embraced by users

LAS VEGAS – March 21, 2006 – Life Fitness, the leading manufacturer of a full line of commercial cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, today at IHRSA introduced the 91Xi total-body elliptical cross-trainer. An enhanced version of the 91X elliptical cross-trainer it is replacing, the new 91Xi includes a wider variety of workout programs and an upgraded console with features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor. But like the previous model, the self-powered 91Xi boasts a classic industrial and biomechanical design, the proven and popular 18-inch stride length, a small footprint and the durability that fitness facilities have come to expect from Life Fitness.

“We took a good product and made it even better,” said Bob Quast, senior director, product management and marketing, Life Fitness. “The 91Xi has the popular, classic elliptical motion users have embraced plus new features that make it even easier to use.”

The 91Xi comes with a total of 16 programs. New programs include Cardio and Fat Burn interactive Zone Training+ heart rate workouts, and eight interval workouts: Around the World, Cascades, Cross-Train Aerobics, Cross-Train Reverse, Foothills, Interval, Kilimanjaro and Speed Training. The wide variety of programs plus 25 levels of resistance will help keep exercisers motivated and interested.

The new dual-level, multiview console features a dedicated numeric keypad on the upper level; the lower level lets exercisers program their workouts and monitor key workout information without moving their reading materials.

Users can monitor their heart rates on the 91Xi with Life Fitness’ patented Lifepulse digital heart rate monitoring or wireless telemetry (chest strap not included). The cross-trainer’s roomy pedals allow exercisers to comfortably position their feet, and the pedals’ close, 2.8-inch spacing minimizes lateral shifting of the hips, thereby reducing lower back stress.

Ergonomically correct moving arms provide a total-body workout while stationary front handlebars offer added stability for lower-body-only exercise. Users also can move in forward or backward motions.

For personal entertainment, the 91Xi can be equipped with the Life Fitness Attachable LCD Entertainment System, which includes an attachable LCD screen, numeric remote control and mounting accessories.
