Life Fitness enhances and expands Fit Series strength line |
SCHILLER PARK, Ill. – Sept. 29, 2005 – Life Fitness, the leading manufacturer of commercial cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, today expanded its Fit Series strength-training line with six new products. The company also announced enhancements to several other pieces in the Fit Series line.
“Life Fitness’ Fit Series line provides a comprehensive selection of biomechanically correct, easy-to-use, aesthetically pleasing strength-training equipment that enables facilities to cost-effectively attract and retain tenants, guests or employees, and meet the ongoing needs of these users,” said Greg Highsmith, senior director, strength product management, Life Fitness. “Our new small-footprint multi-gym and dual-exercise machines are durable and allow facilities to maximize the number of exercises that users can perform in a small area, making these machines ideal for facilities with a limited amount of space.”
The new Fit Series products are Fit 1.0 CM Multi-Gym, Abdominal/Back Extension, Dual Adjustable Pulley, Hip Abduction/Adduction, Pec Fly/Rear Delt, and 3-Tier Dumbbell Rack. The enhanced pieces are the Biceps/Triceps, Lat Pulldown/Low Row, Leg Curl/Leg Extension, Leg Press/Calf Extension and Multi-Press. All of the products are ideal for budget-conscious or space-constrained vertical market facilities.
New products boast bevy of benefits
The new Fit 1.0 CM Multi-Gym lets beginning to advanced users conduct hundreds of exercises and train multiple muscles and joints simultaneously with their feet on the ground. It uses Cable Motion Technology that, like free weights, offers unrestricted, user-defined paths of motion. This allows exercisers to do functional strength training to improve their ability to perform motions specific to sports or everyday activities, such as picking up items from the floor, lifting heavy objects overhead, swinging a tennis racket or preparing for a triathlon.
The Fit 1.0 CM Multi-Gym is made up of two major components, a tower and a bench. The tower features three sets of stationary pulleys – high, medium and low – for training the upper body, torso and lower body. The removable, adjustable bench gives users even more exercise options. The bench, which has six incline angles, can be removed, so users can do exercises with the main tower part of the gym from a wheelchair, stability ball or balance device. Exercisers also can use free weights with the bench separate from the tower. Life Fitness’ proprietary Dock ‘N Lock system ensures the bench is properly positioned and then locks it into place. The Fit 1.0 CM comes with weight stack shrouds and instructional placards with simple visuals that indicate proper form and muscle groups targeted.
The new Abdominal/Back Extension has lumbar pads that help exercisers easily and properly position themselves, 10-degree range-of-motion increments – which allow users a safe range of exercise – and two non-slip foot positions for accommodating exercisers of all sizes. The Dual Adjustable Pulley features Cable Motion Technology, enabling exercisers to define their own paths of motion, and 14 pulley positions per column, which lets users perform more than 225 exercises. With the new Hip Abduction/Adduction, exercisers face the weight stack when performing hip abduction and adduction exercises, and 10-degree range-of-motion increments allow each user to set a safe exercise range. The Pec Fly/Rear Delt boasts the superior biomechanics of the same unit in Life Fitness’ popular Pro 2 Series line. The machine’s arms pivot to accommodate a user’s individual forearm length and natural path of motion, and its handle positions eliminate the need for seat readjustment between exercises. Finally, the new 3-Tier Dumbbell Rack gives facilities a space-efficient way to accommodate 10 pairs of dumbbells.Enhanced products have improved aesthetics
The Biceps/Triceps, Lat Pulldown/Low Row, Leg Curl/Leg Extension, Leg Press/Calf Extension and Multi-Press now have new arched top caps that make the machines more attractive and new weight stacks that incorporate the features and appearance of other Life Fitness commercial products.About Life Fitness
